  • Demystifying AI - Start the day with an engaging introduction to AI designed to build your AI literacy. No prior knowledge of AI, machine learning, or statistics is required, making it ideal for educators at all levels. As AI becomes increasingly embedded in education, this session breaks down how AI works, explores recent advancements, and examines implications for teaching, learning, and assessment. Teachers will gain a clear foundation to confidently navigate AI in their classrooms.

10:30 am: Hands-on Workshops

  • Introduction to AI in the Primary Classroom - Explore age-appropriate ways to introduce AI concepts to younger learners through engaging, curriculum-aligned activities. In this interactive session, teachers will experience both unplugged and digital AI activities that build foundational understanding, creativity, and critical thinking. Participants will also design simple AI-supported tasks for storytelling, inquiry, and problem-solving, while reinforcing safe and responsible use.

 

Stream 2: High School Focus

10:30 am: Hands-on Workshops

  • Practical AI: Choose your Adventure - This interactive workshop invites teachers to explore the creative potential of Generative AI through a “choose-your-own-adventure” experience. Participants will experiment with prompting strategies across a range of tools, selecting pathways that align with their subject area and interests. Through guided exploration, teachers will design AI-powered classroom resources—such as worksheet generators, tutors, and learning supports—while developing skills in effective prompting, critical evaluation, and responsible AI use, including data privacy considerations. No prior AI experience is needed—just a willingness to experiment and explore.

  • Practical AI for the Primary Classroom - Engage in a guided, hands-on session where teachers create classroom tools such as story starters, question generators, and interactive learning activities. Emphasis is placed on safe use, creativity, and building student understanding of AI.

 

Stream 2: High School Focus

1:30 pm: Hands-on Workshops

  • Humanised AI for the Classroom - Develop deeper prompting strategies to solve real classroom challenges. Learn how to refine prompts, evaluate AI outputs, and teach students critical thinking when working with AI tools. Explore ethical considerations and future-focused skills.

 

2:30 pm - 3:00 pm: Combined Session (All Attendees)

2:30 pm: Hands-on Workshops

  • Assessment redesign for AI - Bring the day together in an interactive session to examine how generative AI is reshaping assessmet across primary and secondary contexts. Teachers will explore strategies to redesign tasks that uphold academic integrity while embracing AI as part of the learning process. Through collaborative discussion and examples, you'll develop forward-looking approaches for assessment design in the short, medium, and long term.
