Dan Bowen is the host of the AI Education podcast and a Technology Strategist working with schools and school systems. He brings a strong background in education, with experience as a teacher, governor, and school inspector, alongside his current role at Microsoft as Chief Technology Officer, Education, for K–12 schools.
In his presentation, Dan will share insights from a Microsoft perspective on the evolving role of AI in K–12 education. He will explore how Microsoft is approaching AI innovation, responsible implementation, productivity, and the future of teaching and learning in AI-enabled school environments, particularly for schools already working within a Microsoft ecosystem. Designed for teachers and school leaders, the session will offer practical insights into tools and resources that can support planning, administration, productivity, and classroom practice. Dan will also encourage thoughtful discussion around the opportunities and challenges of AI in education, including academic integrity, over-reliance on technology, and the impact of AI on human creativity, critical thinking and student learning.
