Curious about how artificial intelligence is transforming education?

Join AI in Action, a speaker series exploring the practical, the ethical, the challenging and the creative ways AI is shaping the future of teaching and learning.

Discover how AI empowers teachers, boosts student engagement, and sparks classroom creativity while also examining concerns such as diminished human creativity, over-reliance on technology, and other unforeseen challenges. Our webinars take a balanced look at both the benefits and the pain points of AI, highlighting the additional skills educators and students will need to integrate these tools responsibly.

Guest Speaker

Dr Luke Zaphir,

Luke Zaphir is a philosopher working at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences as a learning designer. He’s spent over a decade teaching critical thinking and media literacy in public schools and at universities. He’s been researching and teaching on how to effectively and ethically use generative AI since 2023.

His presentation will explore some of the findings on how AI is affecting education, explain some of the common misconceptions around AI, and give some interactive examples of the tools in action that can foster critical and creative thinking – ranging from research critiques to unhinged brainstorming.
