The modern cyber world can be dangerous. For many people, business communications and processes are performed via digital mediums (internet, email, applications), which means staff and their employers are exposed to associated threats. The Cyber Security Fundamentals course was created to arm people with fundamental, practical knowledge, enabling them to be safer online and to be ‘cyber savvy’. This instructor-lead 3-hour course is delivered in an engaging and informative manner using a variety of learning tools including an online quiz, videos, and small and large group discussions.

What you will learn

  • Fundamental cyber security knowledge, i.e. obtain ‘cyber savviness’ you can apply in professional and personal settings to be safer online.
  • Common cyber security threats and the countermeasures (controls) you can apply to address these threats.
  • Common examples of behavioural science you can apply to gain a greater understanding of your own and others’ decision-making behaviours.
  • Tips to make you more confident in your ability to manage cyber security risks and to share your knowledge with colleagues and families.
  • How to access free resources to maintain your awareness of cyber security threats and countermeasures.
