UQSchoolsNet Code of Conduct: Ensuring a Safe and Respectful Conference Environment
Purpose and Commitment.
UQSchoolsNet is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for all participants, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, ethnicity, religion, or technology choices.
Defining Acceptable and Unacceptable Behaviour
Acceptable Behaviour includes:
- Always treating others with respect and professionalism
- Being courteous and well-mannered to all
- Respecting each other’s personal space
- Understanding the impact of one’s actions on others
Unacceptable Behaviour encompasses:
- Discriminatory or inflammatory language
- Intimidation and aggressive actions
- Disrupting talks or presentations
- Sexual harassment
- Inappropriate physical contact
- Stalking or unwanted advances
- Using sexual imagery or making sexual comments
Reporting Mechanism
How to Report:
- Speak directly to the person if you feel comfortable
- If you do not feel comfortable, contact event staff or UQSchoolsNet conference organisers
- Email conference organisers at schoolsnet@uq.edu.au
Reporting Process:
- We will Acknowledge your report within 4 hours
- We will conduct a thorough investigation within 2 weeks
- We promise confidential and professional handling
- Appropriate sanctions may include:
- Warnings
- Temporary suspension
- Permanent removal from the event

- Support for those reporting incidents
- Commitment to creating an inclusive environment
We expect all volunteers, sponsors, and participants to READ, AGREE and FOLLOW our code of conduct. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact us or identify our conference staff who are wearing UQ branded clothing.
Note: UQSchoolsNet reserves the right to remove individuals from the event to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
