Virtual Reality

Virtual reality and augmented reality are steadily making their way into the education sector and into classrooms. While it may still be a few years before this technology is adapted into mainstream education (cost of equipment and availability of comprehensive and relevant content, as well as a cultural readiness of teams to embrace the technology are still key hurdles here), we are certainly keeping our fingers on the pulse of this fast moving industry and are in contact with players operating in this field.

Microsoft's HoloLens is a great example of the mixed reality technology which could disrupt traditional education - in the best sense of the word! Smaller start ups like Immerseport are also providing innovative solutions and vast range of options in VR and AR.

Benefits of integrating these technologies into education and classroom would be invaluable to student learning and engagement, so watch this space for updates.

If your school has a best-practice example or a case study of their experience which you'd like to share, please contact me - would love to hear from you on what worked and the direction it's taking  your school or class to.
